                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE, 
                   PART II, CHAPTER 25, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 
                   25-38, RELATIVE TO SIMPLE ASSAULT.
                   
                   
                                                     
                   
                   
       	    	 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE:
       	    	 SECTION 1.  That Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter 
       25, be and is hereby amended so as to add a new Section 25-38 as 
       follows:
            Sec. 25-38.	   Simple Assault.
            
            	 It shall be unlawful for any person in the city to 
            intentionally or knowingly cause another to reasonably 
            fear imminent bodily injury; or, to intentionally or 
            knowingly cause physical contact with another and a 
            reasonable person would regard the contact as extremely 
            offensive or provocative.
            
       	    	 SECTION 2.  That this ordinance shall be effective two 
       (2) weeks from and after its passage as provided by law.
